Sara Murrayis Mercy Corps’ Electronic Cash Transfer Program Manager. In this capacity, she helps Mercy Corps teams in 42 countries transition from physical cash to digital payments. Mercy Corps believes that digital payments offer a way to improve efficiency and transparency when providing cash assistance to communities affected by crises. She has supported the roll-out of electronic payment programs in Nepal, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Philippines and Niger. Prior to her work on electronic payments, Sara worked for Mercy Corps in Latin America and the Balkans. She has designed, implemented and evaluated economic development and recovery programs and possesses a MsC in International Development Management from Lund University in Sweden.
