Emile Schmitz
Africa Interactive

Emile Schmitz is the Marketing Manager at Africa Interactive. Africa Interactive is a fast-growing and unique media and communication agency with a network of 2000 media professionals in 52 countries, mainly in Africa.

Together with this network, Africa Interactive produces many video productions for NGOs and MNCs that are active in Africa. We also produce TV formats for a Western and African audience showing a different and more balanced view of Africa, something that is often lacking in the mainstream media.

Emile has a Masters degree in International Management at the University of Maastricht, Netherlands. After working with grassroots NGOs in Nepal and Uganda, Emile spent five years as a marketing and Base-of-the-Pyramid (BoP) consultant supporting MNCs, such as DSM and Philips in their BoP strategies. For one of his assignments he hired local Africa Interactive reporters to interview BoP families, which created deeper insight and action at boardroom levels. Since joining Africa Interactive, he works with Africans and organizations active in Africaon a daily basis.

Emile is an Africa optimist and sees many business opportunities on the African continent. He’s currently planning to produce a BoP Africa video series to share insights and learnings on successful BoP cases in Africa.
