Anjana Ravi and Eric Tyler
New America Foundation

Anjana Ravi is a research associate for the Global Assets Project at the New America Foundation. She supports the development of the Savings for the Poor Innovation and Knowledge Network (SPINNAKER), an online tool designed to spur collaboration, dialogue and innovation around savings products for the poor.

 

Before joining the Global Assets Project, she interned in the UK parliament forLabour MP Emily Thornberry, focusing on immigration and asylum policy. Anjana holds a Master of Science in Political Economy of Late Development from the London School of Economics, where she received a distinction for her thesis on political alliances and conditionality compliance at the IMF. She is also a graduate of New York University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in politics and math.

 

Eric Tyler currently works as a program associate for theNew America Foundation, where heconducts research, writing and advocacy at the intersection of technology, globalization, emerging economies and economic development. Eric is working to build and managetheSavings for the PoorInnovation and Knowledge Network(SPINNAKER),with The Gates Foundation to share and spur research, analysis and partnerships on innovations in savings product development. His recent research projects in the Philippines and Kenya have focused on the development of mobile banking environments and surrounding enterprises. Eric also serves as an outreach director and strategy group member of theMeta?Activism Project, a think tank studying the growing field of digital activism. Eric’s writings have appeared in CNN’s Global Innovation Showcase, The Ladder, TechChange, among other media outlets.

 

Before joining New America, Eric worked atPlan USA, an international NGO working in 48 developing countries. Eric graduated from Bucknell University, where he double majored in international relations and philosophy, and has also studied international relations theory and Spanish at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador.
