Filippo Veglio is the director of the Development Focus Area for the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). The WBCSD is a CEO-led organization of forward-thinking companies that galvanizes the global business community to create a sustainable future for business, society and the environment. He is based in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Development Focus Area promotes the role of business in driving greater social inclusion and sustainable development in emerging markets, and regroups some 80 WBCS member companies and 20 Regional Network partners.

Engaging senior representatives of member companies, business organizations, bi- and multilateral donors, NGOs and academia, the WBCSD’s work in this domain is currently centered on three key themes: inclusive business models; access to clean, reliable and affordable energy sources; and impact assessment.
