Beth Brockland
Compass Principles

Beth Brockland is Director, Compass Principles at the Center for Financial Services Innovation. The Compass Principles are a set of aspirational guidelines that define how providers can work toward a vision for the future in which financial services are safe and actively contribute to improving people’s lives.

 

Prior to CFSI, Ms. Brockland worked in a variety of roles for organizations that promote economic opportunity for low- and moderate-income communities in the U.S. and abroad. Most recently, she worked in the New York area as an organizer with the Industrial Areas Foundation network, developing and implementing campaigns on issues such as youth employment, elder care, and supportive housing. Previously, she conducted an evaluation of microcredit programs in Central America and provided technical assistance to indigenous women’s organizations as a consultant to Guatemala City-based Rights Action. She also researched and wrote policy reports on welfare reform and unemployment for the Center for Community Change in Washington, DC.

 

Ms. Brockland holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a BA in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A native Midwesterner, she currently lives and works in New York City.
