Anjali Banthia
Women’s World Banking

Anjali Banthia is the senior associate of Women’s World Banking’s research team. She started working for the organization in 2009, and is currently responsible for designing and delivering action-oriented research to support Women’s World Banking’s programs in savings, micro-insurance, credit and remittances, in order to bring the voice of women and girls to the design of microfinance product and marketing strategies.

 

She also leads the organization’s research around violence against women and economic empowerment. She obtained a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and a Master’s degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics. Her research has been published in numerous industry and academic journals and she has spoken about her work at various conferences and universities, including United Nations, University of California at Berkeley, University of Pennsylvania, New York University, Columbia and Yale. Before joining Women’s World Banking, Anjali worked for Ujjivan Financial Services. She speaks Hindi, Urdu and basic French.
