Inspired by the social and environmental transformations taking shape and the social enterprises behind them, Asaia about these innovative business models for NextBillion en Español and NextBillion.

As intern for Ashoka Mexico, Asaia helped the search-and-selection team identify optimal Ashoka Fellows in Mexico for mentorship and funding. That snowballed into being part of the StartingBloc network (young leaders from around the world passionate about driving social innovation across sectors). Through this network she was introduced to InVenture, a U.S. startup  unlocking financial access for all in emerging markets via their SMS mobile platform. As fellow for InVenture in Mexico City, she provided strategic support in their Mexico program, specifically, mitigating investment risk and overseeing operational logistics.

After earning a certificate from Monterey Institute of International Studies in Social Enterprise and Impact Investment Management, she hopes to obtain a graduate degree in Design for Social Innovation. Her goal is to work for a design consulting firm that helps companies, organizations, ventures, etc. innovate, remain competitive and, most importantly, bring impact in the area of social change as it relates to their business.
