Christopher Burns
Digital Development for Feed the Future at USAID

Christopher Burns is the senior coordinator, Digital Development for Feed the Future at USAID. He leads a nimble technical team within the U.S. Global Development Lab, working alongside the Bureau for Food Security, to integrate a suite of digital technologies into Feed the Future activities. In his seven years with the agency he has spearheaded – and currently serves as technical lead for – a number of public-private partnerships including the Digital Impact Alliance, the GSMA Connected Women Program and the Alliance for Affordable Internet. All told, he has 20 years of international development experience, primarily in sub-Saharan Africa, including nearly 10 years with the Peace Corps in a variety of technical and supervisory capacities. He earned a bachelor’s degree in international development and environmental management from St. Lawrence University and a master’s in development management from American University.
