NextBillion - An Initiative of the William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan

Erin is an in intern with Mercy Corp. She grew up in suburban Atlanta, attended Wake Forest University and the University of Georgia, where she studied English, studio art and English education. Erin taught English in Charlotte, NC, before moving to Portland in 2008. For four years she helped found and teach at a new charter school in east Portland. As her career transitions from public education, she also volunteers, writes and works on behalf of the library and Oregon wine/beer industry.
