Javier Okhuysen is the co?founder and CEO of salaUno, a health care social enterprise focused on eye care for the bottom of the pyramid. Since August 2011 he’s been co-leader of a team operating a high-quality, high-volume and low?cost model to eliminate needless blindness in Mexico.

He formerly worked in London for Global Infrastructure Partners, a private equity fund that invests globally in transport, water, waste and energy assets. Before joining GIP, he worked for UBS Investment Bank. He studied industrial engineering at U. Iberoamericana in Mexico DF, where he graduated with honors and was vice president of the Student Committee and a member of the board of the engineering school. Javier is a World Economic Forum “Global Shaper” and was named  “Entrepreneur of the Year 2012” by CNN/Expansion. He received the most prestigious award for social contribution in school and has contributed to several nonprofits. His hobbies include running, football (Arsenal supporter), street art and biographies.
