Thane Kreiner, Ph.D. is executive director of Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship at Santa Clara University, where he is also Howard & Alida Charney University Professor. He was previously founder, president and CEO of Second Genome and Presage Biosciences Inc., as well as president and CEO of Ipierian (acquired by Bristol-Myers Squibb). Prior to his efforts as a “parallel entrepreneur,” Thane spent 14 years in senior leadership roles at Affymetrix, Inc. He earned a master’s in business administration degree from the Stanford Graduate School of Business; a Ph.D. in neurosciences from Stanford University School of Medicine; and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Texas, Austin.
