ANDE Conference Wrap Up: Video Interviews

The second-annual Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) conference wrapped up with several goals for 2011

In terms of knowledge creation and sharing, ANDE plans to launch at least two additional regional hubs, develop a research agenda and hold a 2011 annual conference. Regarding metrics and evaluation, they will promote the adoption of ANDE core metrics and IRIS, hold a metrics conference in the spring, and continue the metrics working group. In relation to education and advocacy, ANDE plans to launch an advocacy working group, strengthen partnerships with development agencies, and develop an advocacy strategy for European DFIs. ANDE plans to continue to conduct its investment manager training and orientation training for new hires and summer associates. Finally, ANDE hopes to replenish the Capacity Development Fund and conduct another round of funding. In 2011, ANDE plans to grow to 140+ members.

Conference participants ended the morning by discussing on what the ANDE research agenda should focus. Much of the discussion revolved around how to use metrics to show that small and growing businesses create significant prosperity in emerging markets.
