A LIVE Chat with Ted London and YOU

**UPDATE: Watch the replay of the live chat here and please feel free to keep the conversation going in the comments below.

We’ve wanted to host a live chat for some time. So we figured, what better occasion for a real-time conversation than the release of a new book that aims to change the conversation about doing business with the BoP? Please join us at 12 PM EST on Thursday, December 16, 2010, for a Webchat with Ted London, co-editor of the book Next Generation Business Strategies for the Base of the Pyramid.

London, a Senior Fellow at the William Davidson Institute and University of Michigan Professor; and Stuart Hart, Chair in Sustainable Global Enterprise and Professor of Management at Cornell University’s Johnson School of Management, co-edited the book. London, Hart and the other writers including Jacqueline Novogratz, CEO of Acumen Fund; and Allen Hammond, Entrepreneur in Residence at Ashoka; investigate the idea of “fortune creating with the BoP” versus the more traditional “fortune finding at the BoP.” This is more than a minor philosophical shift, but has substantial and long-ranging implications for how these businesses are conceived, funded and ultimately operate.

Although this transition is starting to take root for some businesses, this is very much a new concept. So we’re hoping to pose some thoughtful questions to Ted about what it all means.

Please click HERE to attend the chat and/or to set an email reminder. If you’re unable attend live, but would like to ask a question (or several questions – there’s no limit) please send them to info@nextbillion.net and we’ll get them ready to pose to Ted.

If you don’t already own the book, it’s available at major booksellers including Amazon. And if you’re waiting for your book to arrive, but need a primer on the major issues investigated by the writers, check out the book’s site here.
