FEATURED EVENT The BoP Summit 2013: Creating an action agenda for the next decade

The three-day BoP Summit 2013 is specifically designed to both help build better BoP enterprises of today and build a more robust BoP community of tomorrow. In particular, attendees will:

  • Participate in rich and robust conversations about the successes, challenges, and lessons learned over the past decade under different categories.

  • Engage in jointly creating a roadmap for the future development of the BoP domain, which encourages collaboration, cross-sector partnership and innovation.

  • Develop new and strong relationships with colleagues committed to building the domain.

The Summit takes place from October 21-23, 2013 at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Key topics include:

  • Incorporate the local context in business model development and impact assessments (Moderator: Madhu Viswanathan, University of Illinois – UC and Sateen Sheth, WDI)

  • Facilitate the success of MNCs, non-profits and social entrepreneurs (Moderators: Filippo Veglio, WBCSD; Chris Jochnick, Oxfam-America and James Koch, Santa Clara University)

  • Provide resources and creating institutions that facilitate enterprise growth (Moderators: Radha Muthiah, Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves; Sasha Dichter, Acumen and Stuart Hart, Emergent Institute)

  • Lessons learned from healthcare and agricultural sectors (Moderators: Prashant Yadav, WDI and Simon Winter, TechnoServe)
