Associate Account Manager- Latin America

Entrepeneurial Finance Lab- EFL Global

EFL’s Mission:

Started as a research program at Harvard's Center for International Development, the Entrepreneurial Finance Lab is now a for-profit social enterprise that provides commercial banks and investors with technology that measures risk and potential among entrepreneurs across the world. Banks and investors in 20+ countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia use these innovative tools unlock previously inaccessible segments of local financial markets, improve control over credit risk and incorporate tens of thousands of people into financial system.


The Associate Account Manager – Latin America will be responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of EFL’s partnerships with Financial Institutions under the direction of the EFL Latin America Director and in close coordination with the Analysis, Technology and Global Implementation teams.

Project Management Duties: Effectively Deliver EFL Services

  • Support in-field implementations and integration of EFL’s services within our partner institutions
  • Become intimately familiar with the EFL analysis methodology, and coordinate important changes in content and platforms
  • Train client staff on how to administer the EFL assessment on applicants
  • Build relationships at all levels with our clients, from branch-level staff to executives
  • Excel in post-implementation client support
  • Prepare analytical reports and key information for financial institution clients
  • Troubleshoot all areas, from IT and business processes to organizational politics

Innovation and Strategic Contributions

  • Provide input on regional strategy and potential partner engagements
  • Develop / improve project management tools/functions
  • Proactively discuss and position EFL services within (and across) institutions
  • Participate in new business development meetings
  • Be or become an expert on SME lending and banking in Latin America
  • Assist in the preparation of research and impact evaluation materials for FOMIN, the academic community, and the general public

Additional Information:

  • Location: Lima, Peru.
  • Position requires frequent international travel (up to 20% of time) in Latin America and potentially beyond Latin America.

  • Recent graduates with less than three years of work experience preferred.
  • A can-do attitude and an entrepreneurial nature.
  • Ability and willingness to manage many kinds of projects at once – ranging from building a launch plan for a new market to the next minute fixing the broken copy machine.
  • Experience in emerging markets and knowledge of foreign languages.
  • Fluency in business Spanish and high proficiency in English
  • Able to travel and to work across borders with limited supervision
