Communications Officer

Center for Education Innovations, Results for Development Institute (R4D)

The Center for Education Innovations (CEI) is a new initiative of R4D. CEI aims to increase access to quality education for the poor by identifying, analyzing, and connecting non-state education innovations. To this end, CEI employs a three-pronged approach:

· IDENTIFY: CEI will provide comprehensive, up-to-date information about programs with the potential to improve the way education systems operate for the poor.

· ANALYZE: CEI will analyze programs in order to translate good practices and build the body of research on non-state innovations and their role in education systems.

· CONNECT: CEI will connect those who are implementing, funding, and analyzing programs in order to facilitate the scale-up and adaptation of successful models.

The core of CEI is an online platform where all three of the above approaches will be rooted. Features will include an innovations database, a resource library, and a funders’ platform. To effectively promote the scale up and adaptation of promising innovations, offline activities that complement the online platform will be driven by both the CEI team at R4D and regional CEI hubs.
