50th Microfinance Institution Launched in Cambodia

The Royal Microfinance institution launched its operations in Cambodia on Thursday, bringing the total number of micro-lenders in the kingdom to 50.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Kim Vada, director general of the National Bank of Cambodia's Banking Supervision Department, welcomed the new micro-lender, saying that it showed the progress in the banking and finance industry.
"It also truly reflects investors' confidence in Cambodian banking and financial system," he said.
Royal Microfinance's chief executive officer Mao Korkhin said the Royal Microfinance will provide micro and small loans to all types of customers with a very competitive interest rate.
