Believe and inspire.
This is the new battle cry of Jose Ma A. Concepcion III, presidential consultant for entrepreneurship, to get more people involved in the movement to increase the number of Filipinos running their own businesses.
“Small entrepreneurs are today’s wealth creators, and tomorrow’s big companies,” Concepcion said in a speech during the recently concluded conference of the United Nations Development Program. “For an economy to thrive, we must give rise to more of them.”
For Concepcion, increasing the number of wealth creators will entail the launch of a non-political, non-profit national movement, called “Believe and Inspire,” in July.
Last Tuesday, Concepcion presented his plan to the Cabinet during a meeting in Malaca?ang. He said that he would soon recruit successful entrepreneurs, advocates and organizations who would collectively champion the spirit and culture of entrepreneurship.Center for entrepreneurship
Concepcion has tasked entrepreneur Ana Maria Periquet, who designs and sells her own line of furniture and home accessories, to be the movement’s lead advocate.
He has likewise taken steps to set up a Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship.
