Germany to fund Cambodia in promoting private sector development

A new program for promoting Cambodia`s private sector development was launched by Cambodia and Germany, German Embassy said here Friday.
The program is designed to generate sustainable employment opportunities, improve competitiveness and productivity of Cambodian enterprises and contribute to a conducive business environment, the embassy said in a statement.
It will also help with capacity building and training for enterprises, strengthening associations of the private business, creation of business development services and will give support to trade and commerce.
Germany will fund the initial three-year phase with 5.8 million US dollars. And the program will be carried out by the German agency for technical cooperation (GTZ) and Cambodia`s ministries of commerce and industry, as well as NGOs and other donors.
