Robert Kraybill, Managing Director at IIX, and Magnus Young, Research Manager at Shujog, join us today to share their insights on the work they do at Shujog and IIX. They also provide their analyses on the trends in the impact investing space.

Forbes: What are the characteristics in an entity when you discuss “high impact potential social enterprises”?

Magnus Young (Research, Shujog): When we are talking about “high impact potential social enterprises”, IIX and Shujog look for various characteristics in an entity’s core business, social impact, stage of operations and capital needs. To elaborate, we would analyze whether there is an actual market need for the products and services the entity provides, whether the product and service meet the market need, if the pricing reasonable, how the entity is positioned for the target market and whether the management team strong. Social impact is assessed to see the entity is socially or environmentally beneficial for its stakeholders.
