iClinic Healthcare looks to raise Rs 25 cr to fund expansion

Online healthcare provider iClinic Healthcare is in talks with investors to raise Rs 25 crore to fund its expansion in India.

The company, conceptualised and founded jointly by Sanjoy Mukerji, ex-Chief Commercial Officer of Vodafone India andBritannia Industries Managing Director Varun Berry, is targeting to cover majority of the 1,000 towns in India that have broadband and 3G facilities.

In a statement, iClinic Healthcare Pvt said it is in talks with “leading private equity companies and individuals to raise the first tranche to the tune of Rs 25 crore”.

The company was originally funded by its directors with an initial outlay of around Rs 5 crore.

“We are determined to take healthcare to the next level and are reaching patients in over 40 remote towns in India as a first step to reaching millions in the need of specialist care,” iClinic Managing Director Sanjoy Mukerji said.
