Applications for the 7th edition of the Orange (www.Orange.com) Social Venture Prize in Africa and the Middle East (OSVPAM) are being accepted until 6 June 2017 21:00 GMT. As in previous years, the OSVPAM will be awarded to innovative projects which make use of information and communication technologies to improve living conditions for the peoples of Africa and the Middle East in fields such as health, finance, education and agriculture. New for this 7th edition, the competition will start with a national phase during which each of Orange’s 17 participating subsidiaries will examine projects submitted in its country and will designate three winners.
This year, 17 countries in which we operate will recognize 3 winners, the better to promote the local start-up ecosystem, in addition to the winners at the international level. This is our way of reaffirming our ambition of becoming a major partner, in particular by showcasing innovation that serves people.
We hope you will join us for the 2017 SPTF Annual Meeting, June 6-8 in Mexico City, Mexico!
This year, we will feature topics compelling to our global membership, with a special emphasis on cutting edge examples from Latin America. Topics will include regulation to promote financial inclusion; collection and analysis of social outcomes data; technology to enhance productivity and client centricity; and strategies for creating shared value and balanced performance. As our first SPTF Annual Meeting held in Latin America since 2013, this gathering will bring together participants from diverse contexts to facilitate peer exchange on successes and challenges in our sector and dialogue on the latest in international best practices.
The Social Innovation Summit is an annual event taking place in Chicago, that represents a global convening of black swans and wayward thinkers. Where most bring together luminaries to explore the next big idea, we bring together those hungry not just to talk about the next big thing, but to build it.
Let’s be clear about one thing, we are not your average conference. Those who are playing at the nexus of technology, investment, philanthropy, international development, and business come together to investigate solutions and catalyze inspired partnerships that are disrupting history. If we are obsessed with anything, it is great people. We convene the world’s most potent leaders, thinkers, and practitioners with an unwavering bias towards action and a push towards scale.
