Social impact is the new measure of a corporation’s bottom line. Beyond working for stock price and shareholder value, companies are expected to stand up for their employees, their customers and their beliefs. How have companies found their voice, where have they found success and how are they judged by the public for action and inaction?

At The Power of Purpose: The Corporate Responsibility Summit, The Atlantic will gather business executives, employees, community leaders and experts to analyze the impact, the potential and the downsides of corporations speaking out and taking action.

It will take place from 16th – 17th November 2017, Hotel Africana, Kampala Uganda.

    About the Microfinance Summit
The East Africa Microfinance Summit is an annual regional event that brings together various microfinance stakeholders to share experiences, introduce innovations and facilitate networking amongst various stakeholders.

The past summits have attracted over 300 participants from Central Banks from the East African region, financial services providers, academic institutions, wholesale lenders, social investors, donors and development partners among others.

    About the theme
The theme; “Digital Financial Inclusion: a Reflection on the Perspectives, Pros and Challenges for Various Stakeholders” considers the fact that both financial are offering digital financial services to the public. But is it really a simple binary choice between technology and tradition?  Can we find a “third way” to maintain the unique value of microfinance within the digital world? What does a microfinance institution need to go digital, and what are the risks? This Summit will be a key platform to debate the trade-offs, make the case for digital, and critically examine what aspects of traditional service delivery we need to improve.
