Virtual Roundtable: Women’s Economic Empowerment in the Time of COVID-19

The Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Working Group and FinEquity are delighted to cohost a 90-minute virtual roundtable discussion on COVID-19 and Women’s Economic Empowerment, with a focus on employment and entrepreneurship.

The discussion will explore the impact of COVID-19 in these areas of women’s economic empowerment and how projects and organizations are responding to these challenges in practical ways. The virtual roundtable will serve as an opportunity for members to share actionable insights that can inform the work of others in this space.

We want to hear from you about how you are adapting your projects, approaches, and tools in response to the COVID-19 crisis and what you are seeing as emerging lessons-learned and good practices. To ensure a vibrant and highly interactive discussion, we ask that participants interested in sharing insights register and complete the section outlining resources and insights they plan to share during the roundtable. Based on the information you provide, moderators will invite specific participants to share their insights on particular topics during the call. If you would prefer to simply listen to the discussion, simply register and tune in.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend. We hope you can join the discussion!

    The Social Innovation Summit

The Social Innovation Summit is an annual event that represents a global convening of black swans and wayward thinkers. Where most bring together luminaries to explore the next big idea, we bring together those hungry not just to talk about the next big thing, but to build it.

Social Innovation Summit has always prided ourselves on being a community of people who are motivated to take action. In this time of crisis, our network can rise to the occasion and we can serve as the virtual convening place where the most important conversations take place for vital partnerships to be quickly developed and quickly engaged.

Why Technology Matters for Inclusive Cities

Join the Urban Institute and the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth for the first installment in a week-long online forum exploring a pivotal challenge facing cities: how to achieve equity in the digital age.

Technology and the digital revolution can advance inclusion, or they can leave already vulnerable people further behind. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought to life the consequences of technological inequality: access to technology determines access to jobs, services, food and merchandise, and education. How can we create a more equitable future? This discussion with experts in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors will help define equity and elevate new evidence and examples to inform the creation of inclusive cities.
