Global Accelerator Learning Initiative: What the Data Tells Us I Co-hosted by ANDE ESEA & India
For the past five years, GALI has been collecting data on accelerators around the world and the entrepreneurs who seek their support, with a particular focus on accelerators operating in developing economies. By analyzing this data and interviewing dozens of individuals about their experiences with acceleration, the project has been able to release over 30 publications on topics including accelerator effectiveness, the role of gender in startup founder performance, acceleration across different regions, accelerator funding sources, and more.
They have synthesised the findings, drawing from evidence collected from 2015 up until 2021, into a few key points. Introduction to Kiva’s Environmental Lending – Working Towards a Long-Term Strategy
The heads of the Green Inclusive and Climate Smart Finance Action Group are pleased to invite you to their webinar series this Thursday, May 20th, at 4pm. They are eager to discuss Kiva’s experience in building a long-term environmental lending strategy.
Kiva is a US-based non-profit organization with a mission to help underserved communities thrive. Historically, Kiva has pursued this mission through a crowdfunding platform that allows individuals to lend as little as $25 to micro-entrepreneurs and small businesses around the globe who have limited access to capital. In the past 15 years, USD 1.6 billion has been lent through Kiva to over 3.5 million borrowers in over 80 countries.
Kiva has recently added two new impact lines, Kiva Capital, and Kiva Protocol, in order to expand their service offerings and scale their impact even further.
As Kiva continues to scale, it is looking to create a long-term strategy with respect to environmental protection. This work will range from defining what types of loans are defined as eco-friendly, what types of activities fit Kiva’s investment model, and what role third-party organizations may have within the strategy.
