Mangrove Restoration with Carbon Credits
Webinar Overview
Without biodiversity, our human nutrition accessibility is questioned. Surprisingly, biodiversity loss is not all irreversible. Since 1996, scientists have discovered that around 74% of the mangrove loss would be able to be restored.
Mangroves support hundreds of millions of coastal inhabitants around the world while reducing and removing greenhouse gas emissions. In this training webinar, we will explore the mangrove restoration carbon credit project with local community engagement, scientific implementation, and project cost estimation.

Webinar – Partnerships for Power: The First Wave of Interconnected Minigrid Projects in Nigeria
About This Event
Interconnected minigrids (IMGs) in Africa offer a win-win-win solution for consumers, DisCos (power distribution companies), and developers. These pioneering collaborative solutions can help close the energy access deficit in many African countries. IMGs are flexible energy resources connected to a main energy grid — essentially power stations that combine solar PV, battery storage, and backup fossil fuel generators with power from the grid for an optimized energy provision.
This webinar presents the key learnings and insights from the first four IMGs in Nigeria. Backed by data and real-world experiences collected by the developers, DisCos, and RMI, this webinar presents key takeaways on IMG project costs, timelines, construction, and operations, and discusses strategies to scale IMGs in Nigeria and beyond.
The webinar is presented by RMI and GEAPP and includes a panel discussion with key implementing partners and industry stakeholders.
Time: 2:00-3:30 p.m. West Africa Time (9:00-10:30 a.m. ET)

Beyond Performative Philanthropy: Pro Briefing With Kevin Starr
About the event
As traditional foreign assistance crumbles and philanthropy struggles to fill the gap, the development sector stands at a critical crossroads. Who will step forward when conventional funding systems retreat, and what happens when “business as usual” is no longer an option?
Join us for an unfiltered Pro briefing with Kevin Starr, CEO of Mulago Foundation. He’ll sit down with Devex President and Editor-in-Chief Raj Kumar to share candid insights on how we can reshape our aid ecosystem during this unprecedented time:
- The accountability crisis: Why, in his eyes, most impact measurement is theater, and how funders can reclaim their fundamental responsibility to ensure dwindling resources actually benefit communities in need.
- Beyond performative philanthropy: How can organizations build genuine resilience when both government and institutional donors are retreating from their commitments?
- Finding solutions anywhere: Why arbitrary geographic funding restrictions stifle innovation, and what it takes to identify and support truly scalable solutions regardless of where they originate.
This no-holds-barred conversation cuts through conference platitudes to deliver actionable insights for forward-thinking leaders determined to shape development’s future rather than merely react to it.
Submit your questions in advance for this candid discussion about what it takes to build a more effective aid ecosystem.
