How to Learn from Previous Projects to Create Stronger Proposals for Funding

Many individuals working in NGOs will have already spent several hours, days and weeks on writing applications to Donors only to find that they have been rejected but for no apparent reason. The major frustration with grant writing is that all too often it is rare to receive feedback on where we went wrong, or where and how the application could have been strengthened. How on earth can we improve, when most donors don’t tell us why our application has been rejected, other than the sheer competitive environment that we all face.  Sometimes we just need to take matters into our own hands and work out for ourselves the lessons to be learnt from previous projects.  If we adopt a learning approach to development, it is possible to design better, more impactful projects that inform new proposals and increase our chances of success. This webinar provides an insight into common errors made in grant applications, providing feedback from grant assessors, and explains how evaluating projects can help us learn and demonstrate that learning when developing new projects and proposals for funding.
