ADA (Appui au développement autonome) is a Luxembourg-based NGO that, since 1994, has been working to increase the autonomy of vulnerable people in Africa, Latin America and Asia. Through inclusive finance, ADA contributes to sustainable development goals, by focusing on agricultural and forestry value chains, youth entrepreneurship and access to basic services, while factoring in issues relating to the climate, gender and digital technologies. With a view to bolstering its teams, ADA is currently looking to hire an:
Agricultural Value Chain Finance Programme Manager (permanent contract)
You will manage and develop programmes that combine the development of appropriate financial solutions, technical assistance and investments with a view to enabling smallholder farmers to secure their economic resources for the long term, in the three regions in which ADA operates (Africa, Asia and Latin America). The position is based in Luxembourg City, with regular trips to the relevant countries. Your responsibilities
• Managing programmes in partnership with organisations that work in the area of financial inclusion, operators involved in the investment sector and entities involved in agricultural value chains. Your responsibilities will include: − defining and selecting technical assistance projects; − monitoring activities with implementation partners; − monitoring and supporting partners; − planning, monitoring of performance indicators and reporting activities; − budgetary and administrative management of programmes; − dealing with international cooperation agencies and other donors.
• Identifying topics, themes and news stories associated with the programmes and working with the Communications team on disseminating them.
• Contributing to knowledge management activities (capitalising on lessons learned, communications relating to the programme, etc.) and participating in discussions with other ADA teams.
Your profile
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant professional experience;
• Experience of financing “Agricultural Value Chains” and/or of impact investing;
• Practical experience in developing countries;
• University degree (5 years of higher education) in an agronomic, forestry-related and/or environmental field, agricultural or environmental economics, sustainable development, environmental management, international cooperation or an equivalent field;
• Proven expertise in project management and implementation;
• Communication skills and experience in the preparation of communication documents;
• Excellent writing, organisational and summarising skills;
• Autonomy, adaptability and sense of initiative;
• Native English or bilingual English-French, Spanish being an asset;
• Available to travel abroad about 20% of the time.
