Our Story

In 2010, we started Open Capital Advisors to drive growth, enable investment, and transform markets across Africa. We have supported hundreds of clients to improve operations, define strategies, and achieve growth. Across more than 300 engagements spanning 20 countries in Sub-Saharan African, we have seen a consistent challenge – companies struggle to find the talent they need to enable ambitious growth plans.

We faced the exact same challenge at OCA, and in response developed an in-house training platform to develop exceptional analysts, middle managers, and business leaders. We launched Arcadia to bring the power of our talent development model to clients across Africa, who need it as much as we do.

The Role

We are expanding rapidly and are searching for exceptional managers to support classes of analysts and help us define the Manager role as we scale. This is an opportunity to join a proven team as we test and grow a new business model at a pivotal time in our growth.

You will focus on three areas:

Business coaching: You will support up to 10 analysts while they are embedded at clients. You are their first point of contact for questions; you will shadow and provide content input, technical guidance, and feedback at least once a week; you will help them manage their career and development; you will help manage and oversee cohort programming; and you will be a mentor and supporter.

Client management: You will manage the relationship with the placement company, ensuring that they are satisfied, helping to troubleshoot issues, and collecting and synthesizing feedback on the analysts, as well as client needs, to ensure continual development.

Management team: You will work closely with senior management to develop the support program and continue to define the roles, processes, and systems needed to scale.

We are looking for someone willing to commit to at least 12 months in Kenya. You will join Arcadia at an exciting time—we are working towards ambitious, global growth goals. As we continue to expand, there will be many growth opportunities for strong candidates.

Managers should be committed to enabling others, able to assume high levels of responsibility, perform excellent work, contribute fresh ideas, and take pleasure in the work we do. Our team is energetic and driven and we are quick to reward performance and initiative.

We are open to Managers with a variety of backgrounds but top candidates will typically have the following:

Several years of experience at a top global consulting firm, investment firm, bank, law firm, or experience as an entrepreneur or leader in a high-growth business, with significant responsibility for deliverables and client service;
Strong communication skills and analytical abilities and insightful, structured way of presenting information;

Ability to effectively work with clients at all levels and backgrounds;
Interest in coaching, developing, and mentoring our analysts;

Desire to work and live in Nairobi for at least 12 months and broader interest in the region;

Multiple languages and previous Africa experience useful but not required.
Compensation

We offer a competitive package among similar frontier market firms. This includes base salary, an annual performance bonus, health insurance, as well as flight reimbursements and work permits for int’l candidates.
