Engineering for Change Editorial Fellowship sponsored by the ASME Media Group

The application period is open for the Engineering for Change (E4C) Editorial Fellowship sponsored by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Media Group (ASME Media Group. ASME is E4C’s umbrella organization).
The Editorial Fellowship is a workforce development program bridging scientific writing with engineering for sustainable development. The program prepares journalists and science communicators worldwide to report on engineered solutions to local and global challenges. It provides leadership development opportunities that support the next generation of journalists and science communicators as they report on the solutions that can achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Fellows receive a stipend dependent on the region where they are based, experience, and other factors.
Scope of the role
Report, write and publish journalistic works about advances or trends in engineering for global development for E4C, ASME.org and Mechanical Engineering Magazine.
Guide E4C Research Fellows in writing about their investigations and edit written pieces.
Learn, execute and recommend communications strategies on institutional social media platforms.
Participate in 30+ hours of Learning Modules, designed to provide knowledge as context for reporting on the field of technology for sustainable development, hosted by E4C staff and guest experts.
Participate in collaborative weekly videoconferencing calls and check-ins (2-4 hrs/week) with other Fellows, E4C staff, and partners.
Applicants with the following qualities are encouraged to apply
Individuals who are pursuing educational programs or careers in science and technology journalism. Graduating students, recent graduates and early-career professional are eligible.
Excellent writing skills in English.
Fellows may be based in any location of residence with the only requirement of having good Internet connectivity throughout the five months of the Fellowship.
