We are looking for highly driven, entrepreneurial, passionate, and rigorous professionals to join our fast-paced, innovative, and growth-oriented firm advancing PFS across the country. You will work closely with Third Sector Managing Directors, Directors, and Managers, providing direct support on our PFS work around the country. In addition, you will play an integral role in supporting business development efforts, procurement responses, and internal initiatives driving Third Sector’s continued growth. At this time, we are only adding Associates in our San Francisco office.

1-3 years of relevant professional experience
Management Consulting and/or Investment Banking experience preferred
Exemplary written & verbal communication skills
Exceptional analytical & quantitative skills
Experience working with financial statements, large data sets, and excel based models
An ability to lead one or more client-facing project work streams with limited senior support
A demonstrated ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research, identify critical issues & present well structured conclusions & recommendations
Rigorous attention to detail and high quality standards to their work
A pro-active, passionate, and collaborative attitude

Our hiring process is designed to give candidates insight into the nature of the challenges that we face in our daily work and bring into focus the candidates that we have learned will be most successful in this role and at our organization. Here are the phases in our process:

Phase 1: Short, written exercises to assess candidate PFS knowledge & skills – Late May/Early June
Phase 2: 30 minute critical thinking case interview to assess candidate critical thinking – Mid/Late June
Phase 3: 60 minute PFS case interview to assess client facing skills – Late June/Early July
Phase 4: 60 minute video interview to assess candidate project management and leadership style – Early/Mid July
Phase 5: A final 30 minute interview to assess overall fit – Mid July
Phase 6: Our goal is to make offers soon after the final interview for an early/mid August start date in San Francisco
We intentionally do not ask for a cover letter and do not truly consider resumes until Phase 4. This “bias blind” process is aimed at opening this opportunity to more candidates; reviewing applicants on performance assessments instead of resume proxies (e.g. where you went to school).


Third Sector’s organizational structure recognizes the specific roles and responsibilities of each level.

Our Managing Directors provide executive level strategic and operational leadership for the organization.
Our Directors provide senior leadership to our PFS client engagements and managerial support to our Managing Directors.
Our Managers provide day-to-day overall PFS project leadership, often across multiple engagements
Our Associates (this role) support our Managers by providing leadership across one or more client facing project work streams.
