Social Entrepreneurship at the University of Virginia and The Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia invites applications for an Associate Director of Social Entrepreneurship. The successful candidate will serve as an administrative director, mentor and part-time instructor for Social Entrepreneurship at the University of Virginia, logistically housed in the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy but which runs a Minor, courses, programing and events for students at every school of the University of Virginia.  The candidate will serve as the administrative Director, in collaboration with the Academic Director, to: 1. conceptualize, organize and execute Social Entrepreneurship programming including a speakers series, annual innovation summit, the UVA Entrepreneurship Cup, topic-specific conferences like the Pay for Success Conference; 2. Manage student researchers and client contacts for the 4 Labs in the SE@UVA Research Hub for Collaborative Innovation, and 3. Mentor and teach short courses on experiential and skill based Social Entrepreneurship classes.

The successful candidate should have a Master\’s degree and a track record of at least 7 years of practitioner-scholar engagement in social entrepreneurship, impact investing and/or collective impact models like Social Impact Bonds, Pay for Success and Public-Private Partnerships. Start-up and social enterprise experience as well as strong professional connections are highly preferred. Ideally, the candidate should also have experience teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, and mid-career level. Finally, the candidate should demonstrate desire to be an active member of a multidisciplinary professional school. The initial appointment is for three years with an anticipated start date of August 25, 2017; the position is renewable.
