The GIIN is now looking to create a new position to deepen and enhance our capacity to support learning and exchange amongst member organizations. The individual will have the opportunity to shape the long-term approach of developing and delivering learning opportunities to members, but we anticipate that they will start from two priorities. First, the individual will lead the development and piloting of peer learning groups on impact measurement and management (IMM) in practice, starting with a cohort that will be applying a racial equity lens to their investments. Second, the individual will evaluate options and subsequently lead the development of new resources on impact investing practices (including the use of IMM tools) to be delivered online as part of a unique value for members. The Associate Director will have the opportunity and latitude to propose other ideas and strategies for pursuing our goal of supporting an ever-growing number of our member organizations in understanding and applying industry best practices and the tools that are being developed by the GIIN.

The Associate Director will report to the Chief Investor Network Officer and will work in close partnership with other teams in the GIIN leading the development of our tools, research, and training initiatives.

Job responsibilities will include:

Develop new offerings and resources that support GIIN members’ needs for learning industry best practices and that deepen the GIIN’s membership value proposition
• Design and execute a strategy for enhancing the GIIN’s learning offerings to its members, including:
o Design and execute activities based on peer exchange that support GIIN members in deepening their impact investing practices
o In close coordination with the Training and Accreditation team, supervise the development/curation of online offerings for members, including the development of new content available only to members
• Oversee the GIIN Knowledge Hubs, including opportunities for evolving the offering
• Collaborate with other teams within the GIIN to identify new opportunities to bring GIIN tools and research to members, and drive greater member contribution to the development of GIIN tools and research
• Support the development of an e-learning platform and how this can be utilized to develop a member value proposition that enhances the member portal or alternative mechanism

Contribute to the continued growth of the GIIN membership
• Routinely engage with GIIN members to understand their needs and deepen their engagement with the GIIN in support of team and organizational objectives
• Conduct one-on-one meetings and other outreach to persuasively communicate the benefits of becoming a member of the GIIN
• Execute events, in partnership with others in the GIIN team, to support the GIIN’s engagement with GIIN members and market leadership

Candidate Requirements:
• Knowledge of the finance industry, including private markets
• Entrepreneurial instincts and enthusiasm for the opportunity to develop new offerings to provide value for members while also helping advance the overall integrity of the impact investing market
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to support exchange amongst peers
• Experience in supporting professional peer exchange and other forms of capacity building
• Strong project management skills and ability to supervise the development of online-based resources
• Ability to collaborate internally across teams to identify ways to focus efforts in the ways most beneficial to the organization’s overall mission and goals
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with public speaking/presentation experience required
• Intellectual drive, thinking about big issues, what makes and moves markets, what inspires people
• Willingness to work outside of normal business hours at times of peak project flow
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software and willingness to learn other information platforms used by the organization (e.g., Salesforce, Asana, etc.)
• Valid U.S. work authorization that does not require employer sponsorship

Experience and education:
• 7 or more years of relevant work experience in roles related to sustainability and finance
• Demonstrated experience in launching or building new activities and offerings related to learning and/or experience with knowledge management platforms is highly preferred
• Minimum of BA degree

Location: This position will be based in our New York City office with significant remote work flexibility offered through the GIIN’s hybrid in-person/remote work model.

Compensation: Competitive compensation, commensurate with experience. Salary range for this role is between $85,000-$98,000, with an excellent benefits package.
