Reporting to the Senior Liaison, Executive Office the Associate is primarily responsible for providing efficient support to improve the effectiveness of HU’s institutional needs and activities. The Associate functions mainly as a floating team member of the organization and is responsible for providing real time administrative support across various activities and priority projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Increase organizational capacity by acting as organization-wide floater, working in collaboration with other staff members across Humanity United, as assigned
  • Lend additional support to Executive Office, as needed, including production of board books, event logistics, legal matters, and other administrative duties
  • Provide general administrative support to Head of Strategy, Learning and Impact, to include calendaring, filing, expense reports, etc.
  • Provide administrative support to strategy Design Teams, as directed, including logistics, calendaring, and minutes
  • Achieve/maintain proficiency and serve as internal resource for Kumu mapping
  • Process Founder-suggested and CEO-initiated grants, as requested
  • Support production of annual Expenditure Responsibility reports
  • Provide administrative assistance relating to the activities of Humanity United Fellows, consultants and others as requested, including calendaring, expense reports, travel arrangements, event logistics and facilities-related support
  • Perform other responsibilities, as necessary and/or assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred
  • Experience supporting senior personnel is required
  • Prior work in a non-profit or philanthropic environment is highly desirable
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal and written), resourcefulness, willingness to work on both routine administrative tasks and higher-order projects, sound judgment, and the ability to work in a fast paced, challenging environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Apple-based hardware/software products
  • Must be strong at multi-tasking, prioritizing, and have demonstrated expertise in proactively working on projects of wide scope and significant magnitude
  • Experience successfully working on projects with international aspects
  • Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to work successfully with a variety of individuals and cultures
  • Must have experience working with high profile individuals and on high profile projects using appropriate sensitivity and confidentiality
  • Must have outstanding attention to detail, accuracy and organization skills
  • Must demonstrate high degree of flexibility and adaptability required or indicative of a startup, entrepreneurial or changing work environment
  • Must be a creative and independent self-starter, while being a strong team player who acts with diplomacy at all times
  • Must be resourceful and, once trained, able to work at a high level with little guidance
  • Strong work ethic and impeccable professionalism are key job requirements
