About the Role:
Acumen’s BD team in London is small, fun and committed and the BD Associate will play a few important roles. Firstly, you will support on research, event planning and coordination, documentation, and local logistical support for all things Business Development. This will include creating documents and pitch decks, running local reports and keeping our BD database up to date, and prepping BD team members for external meetings with top-notch research on prospects.
Secondly, the BD Associate will specifically support the Senior Director of BD in London. In this role your responsibilities will broadly include supporting the Senior Director’s strategic relationship management with external stakeholders, communications and logistical support for fundraising meetings, events and related activities.
Lastly, you will support on basic administration in the London office to ensure smooth daily operations. Your responsibilities cover all administrative and logistical elements of the London team’s operations including event planning and visitor support.
Specifically, the Business Development Associate will:
+ Supporting follow-up and coordination of engagement opportunities with our local community of Partners
+ Preparation of materials for internal and external meetings including printing and updating PowerPoint decks, etc.
+ Coordinating logistics for local Acumen events, planning and coordinating with the host, managing guest lists, effective capture and follow-up
+ Ensure robust communications by updating contacts and business cards into our CMS system
+ Maintain a presence at desk in order to efficiently and expediently respond to the immediate needs of the BD team
Administration (shared responsibility):
+ Receive inbound calls for the general Acumen office line and route the calls appropriately
+ Act as internal resource and liaison for various operational needs (technology, insurance, security, general office administration, etc.)
+ Ensure smooth administrative entry for new hires including email, laptop and phone set up; building security/entry and overall orientation and integration
Support to Senior Director of BD:
+ Arrange and ensure the seamless run of the day to day schedules of the Senior Director of BD
+ Manage all contacts of Senior Director in Outlook and Salesforce, and manage entry of his Call Reports
+ Process monthly expenses for Senior Director as/if requested

More specifically, you bring:
+ 2-4 years’ professional experience; bachelor\’s degree is required
+ Superior detail orientation; proven success in detail-demanding roles
+ Proficiency with PowerPoint is required; experience in Salesforce.com is a plus
+ Curiosity and coachability; someone who is self-motivated and hungry to learn
+ Comfort in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; ability to prioritize and multi-task
+ Demonstrated interest in or commitment to tackling poverty, and/or social enterprise
+ Permanent work authorization in the UK
