PATH is a global nonprofit dedicated to achieving health equity. With more than 40 years of experience forging multisector partnerships and with expertise in science, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales up innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing heath challenges.

With operations across Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, PATH combines scientific rigor with deep local partnership to drive sustainable change. We are guided by our core values: Respect, Equity, Integrity, Innovation, Collaboration, and Impact.

PATH is embarking on a new strategic direction that fundamentally prioritizes impact over revenue. This shift reflects our commitment to focusing resources and efforts where they can generate the greatest health outcomes for the communities we serve. We are redesigning our portfolio, partnerships, and operations to ensure that every decision, rom program design to resource allocation, is driven by measurable health impact rather than financial growth targets. This strategic evolution requires leaders who can balance ambitious health goals with financial sustainability, making disciplined choices that advance our mission while ensuring organizational viability.

The Opportunity

PATH seeks a visionary, results-driven executive to lead our Asia, Middle East & Europe (AMEE) region as Chief of AMEE. This is a pivotal role for a leader who can unite strategic vision with operational excellence to advance health equity across one of our most dynamic and complex regions.

As a member of PATH’s Executive Leadership Team, the Chief of AMEE will shape regional strategy, drive sustainable impact through disciplined execution, build high-performing teams, and cultivate partnerships that amplify our collective influence. This leader will be instrumental in implementing PATH’s impact-first strategic direction, making critical decisions about portfolio composition, partnership selection, and resource allocation that optimize for health outcomes. They will serve as both a regional champion and a global enterprise leader—integrating regional execution with PATH’s institutional priorities to deliver measurable health outcomes for millions.

The Role

The Chief of AMEE unifies strategic leadership, operational excellence, and mission delivery across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Reporting directly to the CEO and leading a regional leadership team of hub leaders, this executive is accountable for:

Strategic Leadership

Craft and execute the AMEE regional strategy aligned with PATH’s global priorities, translating institutional goals into measurable objectives and context-adapted plans. Champion innovation and adaptive problem-solving while ensuring strategic coherence across diverse country contexts.

Operational Excellence

Drive accountability for regional operational performance, financial sustainability, and risk management. Embed rigor in planning, execution, and performance management to deliver high-quality health outcomes reliably and ethically across the region.

Leadership Development

Build and develop a diverse, high-performing regional leadership team. Foster talent growth, cross-country collaboration, and succession readiness through clarity of direction, inclusive decision-making, and coaching excellence.

Partnership & Influence

Engage strategically with national governments, multilateral organizations, institutional donors, private sector partners, and local networks. Build trust and cultivate long-term partnerships that maximize regional influence and resource mobilization.

Enterprise Leadership

Serve as a full member of PATH’s Executive Leadership Team, acting as co-owner of enterprise priorities rather than regional delegate. Drive deep collaboration across functions and geographies, contributing rigorous analysis and integrated judgment to cross-boundary decisions that advance PATH’s unified organizational direction.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 15+ years of senior leadership experience in global health, international development, or complex multinational organizations with multi-country scope
  • Proven track record of translating strategy into measurable operational impact across diverse geographies and complex stakeholder environments
  • Demonstrated success building and leading high-performing teams across cultures, with deep commitment to talent development and organizational health
  • Strong relationships with government, multilateral, philanthropic, and private sector partners; ability to negotiate complex agreements and influence outcomes at the highest levels

Leadership Competencies

  • The ideal candidate combines strategic rigor with relational intelligence and demonstrates:
  • Analytical clarity and problem structuring — ability to distill complexity into actionable insights
  • Results orientation balanced with empathy — driving outcomes while demonstrating cultural intelligence and inclusive leadership
  • Evidence-based decision-making — collaborative approach rooted in data and organizational alignment
  • Adaptability and resilience — thriving under ambiguity and complexity while maintaining mission focus

Measuring Success

  • The Chief of AMEE will be evaluated on:
  • Impact on health outcomes aligned to PATH’s institutional strategy
  • Financial performance, including budget discipline and diversified resource mobilization
  • Operational integrity and compliance across countries
  • Talent and leadership strength across the region
  • Partnership portfolio quality and strategic collaboration depth
  • Cohesion between regional execution and global strategy
