Organization Profile and Background: Jacaranda Health aims to change the way maternal healthcare is provided. We are building better systems and innovations to provide high-quality, patient-centered maternity care, piloting them in our own private hospitals, and then working with government to replicate our innovations at scale in the public sector. In the last year, we have launched our second maternity hospital, are evaluating expansion to a third, and are now partnering with 3 government hospitals to test our model for improving quality of care in the public sector. We have built a world-class team, developed critical partnerships and support within Kenya, and sparked the interest of the global maternal health community. We have won global and local recognition for our business model, including from the Center for Health Market Innovations, Gates Foundation, International Partnership for Innovations in Healthcare Delivery, Acumen East Africa Fellows – and our facilities have been independently rated as among the highest quality in Kenya.
