The ILO values diversity. We welcome applications from qualified women and men, particularly those with disabilities and from non – or under – represented member States. If needed, reasonable accommodation will be provided in the recruitment phase as well as during the internship to promote equality of opportunities.

Please only apply for an internship if you fulfill the following two criteria:

(1) You have no close relative serving in the ILO.

(2) This is your first internship with the ILO (only one internship is permitted).

Promoting sustainable enterprises and the creation of decent and productive work is a key area of work for the ILO. Sustainable enterprises are a significant contributor to decent job creation and income generation, and a key driver of sustainable and inclusive growth, job creation and poverty reduction. Promoting sustainable enterprises is also important for addressing climate change and environmental sustainability, as business operations have a major impact on the environment.

The promotion of businesses is therefore at the heart of the ILO Decent Work Agenda, and links with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which put decent jobs at the centre of development. This kind of development benefits everyone in the present and the future, without harming the environment.

For the ILO DWT Bangkok team, promoting sustainable business means supporting various projects in the region. This includes working to support refugee livelihoods, supporting factories making clothes and in other sectors, promoting entrepreneurship to youth and building a network of support services to assist small- and medium-sized enterprises. The team is now looking for a motivated intern to join the team to support these efforts by assisting the communications and advocacy work.

The position would be to assist and further develop the efforts of the ILO Enterprises team in Bangkok to promote sustainable enterprises in Asia, in close collaboration with and under the supervision of the DWT’s Enterprise Development Specialist. More specifically, the intern will support the communications and advocacy work of the unit and the promotion of ongoing project activities.
