The Community Health Specialist will work with the community health teams who support the clinical interventions in Neno District through community mobilization and education, Community Health Workers (CHWs), and a program that supports social and economic rights for vulnerable individuals and households (POSER). The Community Health Specialist will work directly with the managers of these programs to do quality improvement projects, help with data management systems, support development of training curriculum and educational messaging, and assist in actualization of key Partners in Health/Abwenzi Pa Za Umoyo strategic priorities in the community health department.

Support quality improvement projects across the community health department
Working with the community health managers and M&E team, assisting in creation, maintenance, and improvement of data management systems and monitoring in the community health programs
Assist the community health managers in program evaluation as well as research where applicable, supporting the development of abstracts and posters for local and international dissemination
Work with community health managers to create work plans and make recommendations on program improvements
Support development and documentation of program strategies, community health messages, training curriculums, best practices, and reports in community health
Help liaise across the community programs and to the clinical department to best align efforts, measurement, and improvement, particularly for new initiatives
Help with planning and execution for key activities in the community health department
Assist with implementation and measurement of new and innovative ideas in the community health department
Other duties as necessary

Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree*
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in economics, or development studies with interest in public health
Demonstrated experience in program management/quality improvement*
Demonstrated data analysis skills*
Expert skills in Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint*
Previous experience in resource-limited settings*
Familiarity with community health-based initiatives
Strong organizational skills and detail orientation
Involvement with program planning and implementation
Ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse staff
Self-starter and ability to work with minimal supervision
Innovative and strong attention to detail
Team player & ability to impart skills/mentor others
Strong communication and writing (documentation) skills
Ability to be flexible, think creatively, and manage competing priorities
