Job Title: Country Director
Job Location: Leogane, Haiti

GOALS is seeking a Country Director to develop and improve existing programs while continuing to grow the organization and deepen our impact throughout Haiti. The Country Director must be comfortable working independently and solving problems in challenging and resource-­limited environments. He/she must be passionate about Haiti’s long-­term development, able to collaborate with a wide range of people and committed to GOALS’ objectives.

Working closely with a US-­based Development Director and local staff, the Country Director will be responsible for all GOALS-­related activities in Haiti to ensure programmatic success. This position will report directly to the Board of Directors.

GOALS is a US-registered 501c3 nonprofit organization that uses soccer to engage youth in Haiti in sport, health and education programs to improve daily quality of life and develop new leadership. Activities are headquartered in Leogane, Haiti, and include high school scholarships, soccer teams, youth literacy classes, community education and public outreach led by a team of Haitian coaches, teachers and administrators. Oversee the planning, implementation, supervision and evaluation of all GOALS’ ongoing activities in Haiti to ensure programs are operating effectively, efficiently and on budget
Provide transparent and accurate performance reports and financial statements to the Development Director and Board of Directors
Support fundraising and communication activities such as promoting GOALS online and hosting occasional volunteers and visitors
Train, oversee and work with existing local staff, recruit new staff as needed; Manage contracts and benefits
Design and administer monitoring and evaluation tools to evaluate program impact; Analyze data and recommend changes in programs and internal structures
Assist with narrative and financial reports and provide supplementary material (data, photos/videos, etc.)
Cultivate and maintain relationships with partner organizations and community and donor stakeholders
Other duties as necessary

Essential Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field; Master’s Degree preferred
Minimum 2 years field experience in a leadership capacity in developing world
Knowledge of Haiti and community-­‐based development work
Proven experience with program development, grant tracking, financial management, and monitoring and evaluation
Proficient in Haitian Creole and English; some French preferred, but not required
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with standard computer and internet tools, including social media and spreadsheets; Salesforce, WordPress and Quickbooks knowledge helpful
Commitment to a grassroots approach that focuses on working alongside local communities and developing local capacity
Valid passport and driver’s license
Clean background check
