POSITION SUMMARY
As the first Development Director at Play Like a Girl, you will have the unique opportunity to build a strategic, multi-faceted fund development program to support the organization and its desired financial goals. Reporting to and working in partnership with the founder and Chief Executive Officer, you will lead all development efforts and manage all external communications, public relations and marketing efforts. You will collaborate with teams across the organization to design events and community engagement experiences for donors, corporations, board members, volunteers, and other constituents. As a member of the leadership team, you will ensure that all development efforts are thoughtfully aligned with the mission, vision and values of Play Like a Girl.

QUALIFICATIONS
You must possess education and experience including:

Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, nonprofit management or related field required; advanced degree highly desirable
Knowledge of and experience with Nashville donor community
Proven success in building relationships with a range of donors across Nashville’s diverse donor community – with both existing and new – securing significant financial support
5 + years of established track record of successful fund development leadership experience
Proven experience in donor retention growth from diverse constituencies
3+ years of researching, drafting, and submitting grant proposals and requests
You must have the following competencies:

Able to review organizational financial needs to identify funding sources and advise the Board and CEO on annual and long-range financial planning
Able to set expectations, establish priorities, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting
Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, video conferencing
Experience with nonprofit CRM software
Strong project management skills
Confident working independently and as a part of a team
Available to work evenings and occasional weekends to support programs and events
Able to travel nationally
