As the Director of Business Development – Public Sector, you will lead the full lifecycle of new business opportunities, with an emphasis on funding from governments and multilateral institutions. We expect this candidate to leverage research and her/his existing network to identify and secure funding opportunities and help guide the overall direction of the company. This is a local, full-time position based in Lisbon, Portugal. The start date is expected to fall within June or July, 2020. -Play a lead role in the mapping, identification, and development of funding opportunities, strategic partnerships, and strategic initiatives in the pursuit of revenue growth.
-With direction from the CEO and COO, oversee the pursuit of all new funding opportunities including the preparations of technical and financial proposals for major open solicitations.
-Drive the formation of Hala’s International Advisory Council, liaising with senior leaders to obtain strategic guidance and to discover new opportunities.
-Represent Hala’s business development interests at relevant meetings, events, and conferences, including substantial international travel (if/when allowed given the current COVID-19 situation).
-Create high-quality pitch decks and presentations.
-Develop concept notes, thought papers, and sales materials to promote the adoption of Hala’s technology in new geographies and new contexts.
-Coordinate the formulation of budgets and proposals across all relevant teams at Hala, including finance, field operations, engineering, and product.
-Translate market feedback into product feature requirements in coordination with the product team.
-Serve as a direct manager to Hala’s current Business Development Manager and architect the future growth of the public sector business development team.
