DayOne Response seeks a driven and dedicated person for the full-time position, Director of Finance Operations.  Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, working closely with the Chief Financial Officer of Record and serving as an integral member of the team, the Director of Finance Operations will be responsible for the overall accounting operations of the company including production of financial reports, maintenance of adequate system of accounting records and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and/or international financial reporting standards.  In addition, the Director of Finance Operations will be charged with developing and implementing more sophisticated policies and procedures both in the finance and general operational realm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

§  Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments.

§  Manage the documentation and accuracy of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, general & entity accounting, cost accounting and any other transactions that effect the accounting records.

§  Prepare and issue timely monthly financial records for Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors, weekly reports to CEO and other financial reports as required.

§  Develop (with CEO & CFO) strategic financial models and forecasts and assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals.

§  Ensure company is in full compliance with taxing authorities (Income, payroll, sales & use and other taxes as required by law).

§  Provide financial analysis metrics to strategically evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc. when necessary.

§  Manage commercial banking relationships to facilitate an appropriate credit resource under highly competitive terms.

§  Work closely with CEO in the development and economic evaluation of various employee benefit programs.

§  Interface with outside audit firms(s), banks and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agent(s), credit card companies and ecommerce agencies.

§  Oversee administration of office and warehouse rent, equipment and new spaces.

§  Work with Logistics team to manage international shipping requirements, paperwork and supplier registrations.

§  Maintain financial reporting system interfacing with software systems support.

§  Perform and complete all duties of the Accounting/Finance department, works closely with Operations on inventory control, order fulfillment and inventory costs.

§  Other actions and responsibilities as necessary.


Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree from four-year College or university; Master’s preferred; five or more years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.   QuickBooks and Microsoft Office skills and experience required.  Inventory control related experience preferred.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations; ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries and complaints.  Strong work ethic and ability to work quickly and accurately. Effective and persuasive presentation skills on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups and/or board of directors.
