Esoko is changing how businesses manage smallholder farmers, suppliers and clients through the effective use of mobile/web innovations. The Director of International Sales and Marketing will be responsible for all aspects of continuing to build our brand and achieving our revenue targets. We\’re looking for someone who is equally strong on strategy and process, understands what agri-businesses need, and is passionate about the opportunity to work in a private sector tech company with huge potential for increased social impact and scale.
About Esoko
Esoko provides information and communication services primarily for agricultural markets in Africa. Currently, we provide advice directly to farmers to help them increase yields and profits, and solutions to companies and other organizations to help them connect with farmers.

Headquartered in Nairobi, Esoko has operations in five countries with deployments through partners in another five. In 2016, we will expand operations into three additional countries.
About the Role
•       Lead the development and execution of Esoko\’s international sales and marketing  strategy
•       Lead sales and marketing teams across Africa for performance, accountability, and employee satisfaction
•       Establish sales and marketing KPIs and effective processes to monitor performance and achieve the goals
•       Effectively translate customer feedback for the Product teams
•       Periodically conduct market research to better understand our competitive positioning and our brand, and identify and communicate market opportunities to the CEO
•       Develop high level marketing and brand strategy in line with Esoko’s strategic vision of the organization.
•       Prepare pitches and conduct demonstrations to potential customers accurately and confidently
•       Lead capacity building across the company to enhance the sales skills of staff
•       Lead cross-departmental efforts to prepare high quality proposals in response to tender documents as required
•       Create marketing campaigns and initiatives that will drive increased revenue
•       Align the organization internally around the brand and marketing objectives
•       Leverage social media to grow Esoko’s brand
•       Seek out new promotional avenues to support revenue growth
•       Represent Esoko at international development conferences as required
•       Work closely with senior management on overall corporate strategy
•       Act as a responsible steward of Esoko resources
About You
•       8-10 years sales and marketing experience in senior positions engaging in relationship-based sales
•       Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field required; Master’s preferred
•       Creative, intellectually curious and an original thinker
•       Process driven – the ends don’t always justify the means for you
•       Quantitative – data makes you giddy
•       Empathetic leader – your EQ is as high as your IQ
•       Driven – you live to close the deal
•       Passionate about working in a business with strong social impact
•       Passionate about innovative technology
•       Experience managing teams in Africa strongly desired
•       Have a consultative approach to problem solving for clients
•       Born networker and salesperson
•       Ability to speak French is a plus
