Working closely with Gradian’s international network of distributors, clinical advisors and biomedical engineers, the Director of Market Strategy will ensure a long-term, robust service and support architecture on the ground wherever Gradian products are installed. Building on these relationships, the Director will also manage select large projects in new or development markets, specifically for larger scale product roll outs. This position is based in New York and will report to the Vice President of Market Strategy. Frequent international travel will be required.
-Develop and execute Gradian’s strategy for service and support of its portfolio products
-Strengthen relationships with biomedical equipment technicians across various countries and managing strategic recruitment and training of technicians
-Evaluate efficacy of clinical and biomedical technician training and work with experts to improve our programs.
-Work closely with and support our in-country distributors in developing efficient, cost-effective and sustainable strategies to provide customer support for our customers
-Bridge Gradian’s engineering and business development functions to ensure efficiencies in service policies and practices
-Identify key metrics to help build financial and operational efficiencies in to Gradian’s service profile
-Manage market expansion in specific countries, in particular those with a rapidly growing customer base and high or complicated service demands
-Work closely with Gradian’s business development function to support distributors’ efforts to expand sales and service capacity
-Entrepreneurially minded self-starter who thrives in the unstructured start-up environment
-Strong relationship management skills
-Strong data analysis and critical thinking acumen
-Professional experience working in a medical technology company or healthcare services environment
-Previous experience working in a low-income country preferred
-Meticulous attention to detail
-Passionate about quality health care delivery and having an impact on improving the health and welfare of people in the developing world
-Strong people skills with a good sense of humor
-Ability to prioritize and delegate effectively
-Bachelor degree or higher
-5+ years’ work experience
-English fluency (French competency major asset)
-Excellent analytical skills
-Unrestricted ability to work in the US
-Ability to manage many projects at once
Gradian Health Systems is a nonprofit medical technology company based in New York. We equip hospitals in resource-limited settings to deliver safe surgical and critical care through appropriate technology, in-country customer service and on-site product training. Working with local distributors, clinicians, governments and NGOs, our service and training networks span hundreds of health facilities across nearly two-dozen countries.
Gradian’s core product is an anesthesia machine designed to work with or without electricity and medical oxygen. In late 2017, we are planning to roll out our second product focused on critical and intensive care.
