Refugee Open Ware (ROW) is a global humanitarian innovation consortium, whose mission is to employ advanced technology to improve human rights fulfillment of both refugees and host communities in conflict-affected areas. We seek to save lives, reduce trauma and improve basic needs provision while driving long-term economic development, productivity growth, venture creation and employment generation. Research tasks:

Strategy – Conduct research on trends affecting the field of humanitarian aid and the employment of technology in refugee populations, humanitarian crisis scenarios and conflict zones

Thought leadership – Carry out interviews, policy analysis and desk research on advanced technology’s usage in humanitarian crises, trends and challenges shaping refugee issues and to shape ROW’s thought leadership pieces (articles and reports) on its mission and objectives

Outreach – Collect data and insights from media and research reports on humanitarian development to be used in ROW social media and outreach

Skills and backgrounds:

Skills – Bachelors or Masters degree in political science, international relations, humanitarian relief, refugee studies, international development, sociology or economics. Excellent writing skills and prior research experience. We want dynamic researchers with strong quantitative and/or qualitative research skills and an ability to work remotely and with minimal supervision.

Interests – Eager to contribute to new methods for mitigating effects of humanitarian crises and passionate about humanitarian development, technology for development, the future of work and disruptive technologies in fragile states
