California Harvesters Inc. (“CHI”) seeks a Director of Training and Employee Engagement who is excited to grow California’s first worker-centered farm labor services company. The Director of Training and Employee Engagement works with a team to design and implement an “employer of choice” model that fosters respect, trust and excellence to create a workplace where employees are valued, encouraged to contribute to the best of their ability, and provided with opportunities for professional and personal growth. This position is responsible for implementing a worker-centered approach based on four job quality elements: (1) better wages, benefits and working conditions, (2) opportunities for advancement, (3) meaningful participation, and (4) ownership and profit-sharing. They are responsible for overall management, coordination and improvement of all facets of the worker-centered functions, from communications through trainings. Above all, the Director of Training and Employee Engagement creates and maintains an exceptional workplace culture, working with management and consultants to develop policies and initiatives that include:
– Training and information-sharing that improves health and safety conditions, builds employee skills, develops an informed and trusting workforce and creates leadership ladders for those interested;
– A “coaching approach” to supervision committed to helping employees improve their performance and build their skills and aptitude; and
– Developing and leveraging meaningful partnerships that improve the overall well-being of employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Ability to read, write, speak and translate English/Spanish
