Position Summary
You are an energetic, thoughtful, positive and creative team player who is deeply motivated by the mission-driven work we do at The Rockefeller Foundation. You get excited about developing and implementing communications and engagement programs for our amazing grantees and staff around the world. You have a proven track record of successfully executing stakeholder engagement campaigns and programs. You will have the dynamic opportunity to work with our talented digital and tech teams and others across the organization to help roll out new internal digital and social channels in service of all of the above. You will report to the Associate Director, Engagement, who can’t wait to welcome you to our entrepreneurial and action-oriented People & Talent Management team. You will also work closely with the Communications team and program teams across the Foundation. This position is a two-year fixed term hire.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Staff engagement
Support the Associate Director, Engagement to help create and deliver tools and best practices in communicating with employees in a global organization to elevate productivity, performance and pride.
Work with AD, Engagement to identify and implement communications opportunities to connect leadership with employees, developing key messages and communications to enhance engagement across all Foundation locations (New York City, Nairobi, Bangkok, Bellagio)
Partner with digital and communications team to plan and develop written and visual content for all internal channels in a manner that is timely, high impact and high quality.
Offer creative, compelling communications solutions and campaigns to support internal projects designed to change employee behavior and culture
Help drive employee engagement and organization affinity by helping to create and facilitate opportunities for dialogue with staff about strategy, culture and values.
Lead efforts to extend our reach and interaction with staff through additional channels, including internal social media, multimedia and digital signage.
Support ongoing measurement processes to effectively evaluate the impact of our internal communications and engagement work.
Proactively keeps up with external developments, trends and research related to engagement practices

Grantee engagement
Support the creation of new tools and processes to enhance the grantee experience
Work with program staff and teams across all offices to identify near and long term opportunities to communicate with and engage grantees in a more systematic way; Develop and maintain relationships with grantees across the Foundation’s portfolio to inform engagement strategy
Support the planning and design of grantee convenings across the Foundation’s portfolio to increase the impact of initiatives and to share ideas and insights, advance issues of shared concern, and build deeper connections
Support the AD, Engagement in the creation and dissemination of best practices for staff who regularly work with grantees around relationship building and management with a focus on communicating effectively and regularly, including checkpoints throughout the year for targeted communications to grantees, and protocol for consistent and high quality transitions with grantees when staff changes
Work with AD, Knowledge Integration around best practice sharing among teams for grantee relationship management as well as more general sharing of information and knowledge to build connections across initiatives and departments and allow staff to learn from each other.
Identify new ways to engage our grantees and share more information from the Foundation at large, as well as continuously identifying ways to highlight the work of grantees and partners on our website and social media
Working with the Talent Development Manager, help to design, organize and facilitate capacity building sessions for staff around grantee engagement to ultimately increase the impact of our work through stronger connections and relationships

Skills
Demonstrated ability and track record in developing, and delivering staff communications and engagement programs; experience developing and implementing community/stakeholder engagement campaigns
Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills and enjoys rolling up their sleeves and executing communications deliverable
Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interface with people at all levels and from various disciplines and cultures
Successful track record in using creative and effective communications and engagement strategies to produce desired outcomes
Experience producing digital content for internal channels and external websites
Effectively manages multiple projects simultaneously

Education, Training and Experience
BA/BS degree required
At least 5 years’ experience (min. 3) in internal communications, community/stakeholder engagement, and/or work in the social impact sector
Computer proficiency: Windows applications (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Training / Facilitation skills or certifications preferred, not required
Proven success developing and executing effective stakeholder engagement programs
Knowledge of emerging trends and best practices when developing engagement strategies and materials
