AltGen is on the hunt for a Sales Executive who is both a business development sales guru (with networks in the solar EPC space) as well as a technical genius when it comes to inverters, monitoring equipment, and battery storage applications. The ideal candidate will have an engineering degree as well as an MBA or BCom degree. AltGen are looking for someone who is knowledgeable when it comes to Southern and Eastern Africa’s solar markets. Over the years, your experience in the solar industry has provided you with robust knowledge about centralised and decentralised PV solutions. You are someone who thrives working both independently as well as in a team, which accentuates your excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You are highly professional in the way you conduct yourself with clients, can easily provide intelligent solutions on the spot, and won’t break a sweat when needing to sell tier 1 products! Using your technical know-how and great people skills, you will liaise with EPC’s and project developers to build and nurture relationships as well as provide technical and commercial solutions to each of their projects. As the Sales Executive, your responsibilities will include continuously exceeding annual sales targets, conducting regular client meetings – both virtually and on-site, supporting customers through the analysis of system specifications and requirements, and provide input on the creation of sales materials as well as the development of marketing materials.

Engineering degree in Electro-technical field
Business degree, BCom, MBA or similar
3 – 5 years experience in sales and engineering in the solar industry
3+ years in a similar role
Proven sales track record selling tier 1 products
Strong knowledge of the Southern and Eastern African solar markets as well as relevant regulations and key players
Strong technical understanding of PV systems (100kWp – 100MW projects
