Responsibilities:

The Fellow, People Operations & Business Development will have the following responsibilities:
1. Manage the end-to-end employee lifecycle, from recruitment to exit transition
•     Manage the outreach, screening, and interview process of potential candidates with support of a People Operations volunteer
–  Drive outreach to active and passive candidates through contacts, job boards, and recruiting platforms
–  Maintain an up-to-date candidate pipeline and outreach tracking tools
–  Guide relationship and updates between candidate and WVI team
•     Create a robust professional development program and build WVI team culture
–  Develop and execute a process to identify employee needs
–  Generate training materials and activities
–  Lead and support company leadership, where relevant, to implement training activities and track progress / success
–  Ensure a vibrant company culture, organizing company events and other activities
•     Position WVI at the forefront of the intersection of the social enterprise, startup, and innovation spaces to drive external brand recognition
–  Create strategic partnerships for people operations (e.g. recruiting, training, culture building, brand promotion) through events, networking, and outreach
–  Promote WVI as a leader in professional development to external stakeholders
2.      Execute business development for investment and strategic business partnerships
•     Build a repeatable and scalable business development process (e.g. pipeline management process, opportunity analysis framework)
•     Research and maintain a database of leads of potential partners aligned with Waste Ventures India’s mission, helping to position WVI as a leading waste management social enterprise
•     Write proposals and concept notes targeted at potential new funders and partners
•     Support the development of investor relations documents for funders, as needed
3.      Drive company communications
•     Direct overall newsletter campaigns including content creation, editing and distribution
•     Build WVI’s social media presence across LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter by curating relevant content such as  job postings, WVI news, and material on relevant partners and current events
•     Assist in other communications and marketing efforts where possible (e.g. coordinate new graphical or copy content for website)

Beyond the specific aforementioned core objectives, the role will have the following responsibilities:
•       Manage a People Operations intern
•       Provide support in varied areas beyond the job description as needed
•       Serve as a key brand representative for Waste Ventures India in all external communication and at relevant industry events

Qualifications

Experience
•       High-performing undergraduate background required, graduate degree preferred
•       Minimum 1 year of professional experience, preferably in a recruiting and/or a people & organization function
•       Mix of Western and emerging markets work or educational experience is a plus
•       Experience in proposal development, graphic design and website management is a plus
•       Strong English language ability; Hindi and Telegu a plus but not required

Compensation and logistics

•       Compensation is commensurate with experience, and includes stipend and housing
•       The position starts immediately and is based in Hyderabad
•       This position is based primarily in our office in Hyderabad, but is flexible to include remote working options

Waste Ventures India is a waste management social enterprise that is moving India's solid waste sector to models that are simultaneously environmentally and financially sustainable. We offer professional waste collection and processing services to large housing societies, manufacturers, and waste pickers. Our multifaceted model reduces waste to the du¬mpsite, improves waste picker livelihoods, and increases agricultural productivity through the organic compost we create.
